We had a busy but fun weekend. On Friday, we headed to the north side of town and shopped a little bit. We still had a gift card so we bought a mirror to go over our mantle and a big clock for our living room.
But before our shopping extravaganza, we decided to eat at Chester's which is known as having the best burgers in San Antonio.
We thought they were good (though very greasy) but we've had better. On Saturday, we had a cleaning and work on the house day. Although we didn't get much cleaning done, we did plant flowers, work in the yard and do a little decorating for Fall. Let me tell ya, working in the yard is hard work! I mean my legs were so sore from pulling up dead plants. Our yard still needs tons of TLC but we made some headway.
Sunday night our small group from church came over to our house. We are starting a new study called Explicit Gospel by Matt Chandler. I am super excited about it. We had a great time eating and just fellowshipping together.
Now, I can't do a whole post without posting a picture of my sweet boy!
Look at those chubby cheeks! I am so in love!

Playing Catch Up
Last Wednesday, I was able to attend MOPS at our church. It was such a blessing to talk with other mothers about the joys and struggles of motherhood. It was also the first time for someone other than a family member to keep Nathan. He did wonderful! I was thankful for Mrs. Dawn for taking such good care of him. Here is my sweet boy before MOPS.
Please excuse the blurriness of the pictures. It's getting harder and harder to get a clear shot.
This past weekend we traveled to Frisco, TX to spend some time with Grandmother, Granddad, Uncle Chad, Aunt Julie and cousins Mabry and Clark. It was a short trip but we sure had lots of fun! I, unfortunately, didn't get any pictures....I was too busy spending time with family! We shopped, ate good food and attended a Frisco Roughriders game who played the Springfield Cardinals.
While in Frisco, I bought Nathan a new hat to match his daddy. I'm a little biased but he is the cutest little boy ever!
We go to the doctor this afternoon for Nathan to get his shots! :( Wish us luck!

2 Months
Sorry I've been MIA lately but this past week has been quite busy. But for now, my baby is 2 months old today! Can you believe it? It's crazy how fast time flies.
Nathan this is what you have been up to this month...
Nathan this is what you have been up to this month...
- We think you weigh around 11 pounds. We go to the doctor tomorrow so we will find out for sure.
- You are still wearing a size 1 diaper
- You are "talking" more and more everyday.
- You have become so alert. You love to stare and smile at your mommy and daddy.
- You are still nursing about every 3 hours.
- You are sleeping about 7-8 hours every night.
- We have allowed you to watch some of Baby Einstein and you LOVE it! You love listening to the different sounds and watching the movement.
- You are wearing sizes 3-6 months clothing.
- Your favorite things to do are watch your bear mobile in your bassinet and play on your floor mat.
- You have about outgrown your bassinet and will soon be moving to your crib. (I don't think mommy will get much sleep that night!)

No Girls Allowed
Yesterday I helped out with our church's MDO program so Nathan got to spend several hours with his daddy at work. They had a great time! They even went out to eat which was Alex's first time to take Nathan out alone. Daddy did wonderful! He's a natural. I missed my lil' man but it was nice to have some adult interaction.
Before we left the house yesterday, I let Nathan take a nap in his crib which was a HUGE step for me! New moms, you know how it goes. I know most of you are thinking that I'm crazy because it was only a nap but still! I, of course, put our baby monitor on him the whole time. Here's a little shot I took of him sleeping in his crib.
Nathan is still sleeping in his bassinet which is beside my bed. Alex makes fun of me because I am trying to slowly move his bassinet farther away from my bedside. I may only move it a foot but it's progress...right?? I'm afraid he will be moving to his crib a lot sooner than I would like because he is getting too big! He has almost outgrown the bassinet.
I know I sound like a typical new mom and I'm sure things will be different with the second child (don't worry I'm not planning on having another for awhile!). But right now I am enjoying the little things and not yet ready for my baby to move to his crib. Am I the only one??

Happy Grandparent's Day and Photo Shoot
Nathan is so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents!
He loves his Grandmother and Granddad.
And he loves his Nonny and Pops.
Alex and I are thankful for their unconditional love for our little boy. God has blessed us with such Godly and loving parents. We love y'all!
I did a little "photo shoot" of Nathan this morning because I thought he looked so cute and grown-up. So excuse the overload of pictures and the blurriness of a few of them.

Friday Night Football
Tonight was Nathan's first football game! We attended the Floresville High game and had a great time! We have figured out that Nathan LOVES being outside. He was so content. He did so well. One of our students is the mascot for Floresville so we were able to snap a picture of her holding Nathan!
We left at half-time so I could feed Nathan and put him to bed. Before bedtime, Nathan always gets a bath. And it cracks me up every time because his hair just goes absolutely crazy after his bath. So here is a snapshot of his wild hairdo from tonight's bath.
This picture makes me laugh every time I look at it! Well, we had such a fun night and look forward to many more games! Go Tigers!!

Random Thoughts
Nothing too special going on right now. Just loving being home with my lil' man.
On Monday, we had a fun family outing to the Rim. We ate and shopped around. Here's my sweet Nathan in his Labor Day shirt.
On Tuesday, Nathan hung out with daddy for about an hour while mommy went to the doctor. Then Nathan and mommy had fun playing and folding laundry.
Then last night, Alex surprised me with this beautiful necklace. He said it was from both him and Nathan. The Lord has truly blessed me with an amazing husband.
Tonight we had youth. Alex introduced the new logo for our youth group. Y'all, Alex has been praying about this new logo and name forever! The new name is 360 Students because once we have accepted Christ, we make a 180 turn then God calls us to go back to the world to love people and tell others about Him....therefore making a 360 turn. I'm so proud of him and his leadership. But here's a picture of my little cutie before church. Doesn't he look so big??

Politics
I'm not one to say much about the upcoming election but the Lord has really been tugging at my heart about a few issues. So bear with me as I'm not an eloquent writer.
Let me starting off by saying that politics frustrate me. The hatred that goes along with politics irritate me. What politics does to people make me sick. People place their hope in politicians thinking they can change the world and have the right answers. Christians think that a Republican president will do the trick and fix this perverse nation. Believers tend to think that the world is falling apart because we have a Democrat president in office.
Don't get me wrong, I call myself a Republican. Do I think it is important to vote? Of course! We have a duty to stand up for what we think is right. Do I agree with Obama? No, but aren't we called to pray for our President and our leaders? (Romans 13)
Let me just say that we worship an almighty, all-powerful God. My hope is placed in Jesus Christ not this government. He is able to do far more than we could ever imagine. I know my God is in control whether there is a Republican president in office or a Democrat.
I think it's great that Christians push for a Republican president to be in office but what frustrates me is when we forget that in the end our God will have his way. Christians, if Obama is elected again then don't get upset! The world is not coming to an end! That should only cause you to pray for him that much more!
I love living in America, and I am thankful for the freedom that we have. But America is not God's country. America is corrupt just like any other country. Maybe, just maybe, God is trying to get our attention. Churches, this is the time to not criticize our President but to set an example by praying for this country and our leadership! Pray for our nation that God will move in a mighty way. Pray that Christians will have an urgency to spread the Good News throughout our country. Because it is ONLY through Jesus Christ that we can have true freedom and eternal life. Only God can change this nation.
"Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told." Habakkuk 1:5

Nathan's First...
...road trip.
...time to ride on daddy's shoulders.
...time to meet his Great, Great Grandmother.
...time to Nonny and Pops' house.
...5 generation picture.
We traveled to Big Spring, TX this past week to see my family. We had a great time visiting with family and swimming in Nonny and Pops' pool! Nathan was, of course, the center of attention. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
